How to Import Wavetables into Popular VST Synths
Serum 1
- Open Serum in your DAW.
- Click Menu → Show Serum Presets Folder.
- Open the Tables folder.
You have two options for storing your wavetables:
Option 1: Place them directly inside the Tables folder. Your wavetables will appear directly in Serum's wavetable browser, making them quick to access.
Option 2: Place them inside Tables/User. This is the folder recommended by Xfer Records. It keeps your wavetable browser more organized, although it requires one additional click when browsing.
- Click Menu → Rescan Folders on Disk to refresh the wavetable library.
Serum 2
- Open Serum 2 in your DAW.
- Click Menu → Show Serum 2 Presets Folder.
- Open the Tables folder.
You have two options for storing your wavetables:
Option 1: Place them directly inside the Tables folder. Your wavetables will appear directly in Serum 2's wavetable browser.
Option 2: Place them inside Tables/User. This is the folder recommended by Xfer Records. It keeps your wavetable browser cleaner, although it requires one additional click when browsing.
- Click Menu → Rescan Folders on Disk to refresh the library so Serum 2 detects your new wavetables.
Phase Plant
- Open Phase Plant in your DAW.
- Add a Wavetable Generator.
- Click the current wavetable to open the wavetable browser.
- Scroll down and select Add Location.
- Browse to and select the folder that contains your wavetables.
The selected folder will now appear in the wavetable browser, allowing you to access all the wavetables stored there.
Arturia Pigments
- Open Pigments in your DAW.
- Select the Wavetable Engine.
- Click the current wavetable name (the default is Basic Waveforms) to open the wavetable browser.
- Select Folders → Add Folder.
- Browse to the folder containing your wavetables and add it.
Your selected folder will now be available in Pigments whenever you browse wavetables.
Vital
- Open Vital in your DAW.
- Click the browser at the top of the interface (it usually displays Init) to open the browser.
- In the left sidebar, scroll down and click Add Folder.
- Browse to the folder containing your wavetables and select it.
Your added folder will now be available whenever you browse wavetables in Vital.
Organizing Your Wavetables
If you use several wavetable synthesizers, consider storing your custom wavetables in a single folder on your computer instead of copying them into each plugin's directory.
Synths such as Phase Plant, Pigments and Vital can all read from the same folder, making it easier to organize, update and back up your wavetable collection.
